TAYLOR BONSALL-WINN

Emergency Preparedness and Continuity Specialist

Taylor leads the university's efforts to implement emergency preparedness in buildings around campus through the Building Coordinators program. She also manages UMD's Campus Incident Coordination Group which is a vital asset for urgent communication across campus during emergencies. In addition, Taylor leverages her previous experience developing plans to support loved ones of those affected by mass casualty events in support of UMD's Family Assistance Center program. As a UMD graduate and former member of the “TerpVets” Student Veteran program, she is honored to continue her service, this time to the greater UMD community.

Prior to joining OEMBC, Taylor served seven years in the U.S. Air Force in various emergency management capacities. While stationed in Japan, she served with the 353rd Special Operations Group in support of high-priority missions in the region. In Germany, she served in the only multi-national flying unit for NATO; this position supported several NATO Summits with world leaders and earned Taylor the Airman of the Year award for her career field at the Air Force-level. Prior to returning to UMD, Taylor worked for the Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management where she helped lead the county’s response for Afghan refugees, developed numerous plans, and supported the county's Emergency Operations Center. Overall, Taylor has nine years of emergency management experience in a wide variety of areas.
