Erin Meyer

ERIN MEYER

Director

Erin established the Office of Emergency Management and Business Continuity in early 2020, serving as its first director. In addition to her other responsibilities, she serves on the Executive Committee for the Emergency Management Committee of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Erin has worked in the emergency management field for 25 years in both the private and public sectors. Throughout her career, she has worked in planning and business continuity, participated in field deployments, and served in various Emergency Operations Centers. She has supported major incident operations to include anthrax attacks in D.C., active shooters at Fort Hood and Navy Yard, Hurricane Katrina, Super Typhoon Pongsona in Guam, and Manhattan following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Erin has a master’s degree in hazardous materials management and is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) as well as a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). She is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI, a business continuity professional organization), and the Maryland Emergency Management Association (MDEMA).
