ERIN KOPACZ

Lead Emergency Preparedness and Continuity Specialist

Erin Kopacz (“Erin K”) leads the university’s business continuity efforts, supporting departments in the development and exercising of their Continuity of Operations Plans. She also leads OEMBC’s outreach initiatives, including the creation and distribution of preparedness resources, facilitation of educational sessions, and collaboration with university stakeholders on preparedness activities. In addition, Erin K oversees OEMBC’s incident notification platform, facilitates exercises, and drives some of OEMBC’s strategic initiatives. As a Terp (’10), Erin K was thrilled to return to campus in 2023 as a member of the OEMBC team. 

 

Prior to joining OEMBC, Erin K worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a project manager and subject matter expert for 11 years, providing comprehensive emergency management services to various FEMA clients and their state and local customers. She is an experienced facilitator, having delivered countless trainings and workshops on emergency communications, grant programs, active shooter preparedness, and community resilience topics. In addition, she has extensive experience developing emergency preparedness plans, communications annexes, and stakeholder resources. Previously, Erin K received her M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University, during which time she worked as an intern for the New York City Office of Emergency Management.

 

Erin K is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP). She is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
